Windshield Replacement for the 2012-2021 Tesla Model S
That massive piece of glass on the front of your Model S takes a serious beating on the 401. If a stray rock just ruined your morning commute, you need a replacement that respects the engineering of the car. Working on a 2012-2021 Tesla isn't like swapping glass on an old commuter beater. Depending on your exact year, we have to account for Autopilot cameras, rain sensors, and cabin acoustics. I've been doing this a long time, and I know exactly what it takes to get your Tesla looking and driving like it just rolled off the factory floor.
How We Do the Job
I don't believe in cutting corners. When I pull up to work on your car, here is the exact process my crew and I follow to make sure the job is done right the first time:
- Interior Protection: Before any tools come out, we lay down thick, heavy-duty covers over your dashboard, steering wheel, and front seats. Urethane is messy stuff, and we make sure not a single drop gets anywhere near your interior.
- Safe Removal: We use an advanced wire-cutting system to slice right through the old factory seal. This lets us lift the broken windshield away cleanly without scratching your Tesla's aluminum frame or damaging the headliner.
- Surface Cleaning: I strip the old adhesive down to a thin, even base layer. We then clean the pinch weld thoroughly to remove all dirt, dust, and moisture. A clean surface is the only way the new glass will stick properly.
- Primer Application: If there are any bare metal spots on the frame, I hit them with a high-grade black primer. This prevents rust from forming down the road and gives our glue a solid surface to bite into.
- High-Quality Adhesive Setup: We run a thick, consistent bead of premium, fast-curing urethane adhesive. Two of us then carefully set the new glass into place, making absolutely sure the camera brackets and sensors line up perfectly before the glue sets.
